#PhotoOfTheDay + Blog 1/1
So, even though it should have been the other way around, I ended 2011 watching “In Time” and started 2012 watching “New Year’s Eve”. I pretty much loved both movies, but… who could have thought that the person you watch the movie with can influence your thoughts of it? Well, it happened to me. And I hate when that happens.
Truth is, I was expecting for a little (which felt long) while to watch In Time because having Matt Bomer and Alex Pettyfer in the same movie, is just too much for me. When I saw a post on Tumblr, actually, about them acting together on that movie, I almost freaked out! I just couldn’t wait. I went with my mom on December 30th to finally watch it and I could feel how she wasn’t super comfortable with the movie just because it was too “futuristic” and sometimes she doesn’t really enjoy those movies. Now that I look back, putting that aside, I can notice I really liked the movie! It was so nicely done and it was different. Plus, it leaves a cool message of “living forever” and its consequences (if it were ever to happen), the dispute between the poor and the rich, how you have to work hard to earn things, how “time is power” or “time is money”. It’s a science fiction/action movie that I believe not everyone is going to love but I’m pretty sure it’s something that’s never been done before and you see some talented people/new actors working on it that you might have never noticed before.
Now, New Year’s Eve can’t be compared to In Time because they’re two different kind of movies. This one is a comedy-drama-romantic movie that includes a bunch of great actors, plus it was filmed on New York City (most of it) which makes it almost perfect to me. I really loved the “speech” Hilary Swank gives on one of the scenes, it really hits you in so many ways. Seeing Zac Efron dance how he does, and Josh Duhamel doing whatever, was lovely. Usually people don’t enjoy these movies that have a bunch of good actors because too much of it can be too much, but I actually like most of those movies, a lot. The fact that I saw this movie on January 1st (with my mom, dad and brother, who dig these movies) made me notice how careful they were of every detail. I saw part of the NYE transmission from Time Square and it looked pretty much exactly as the one they put on the movie. Every story leaves you a little something, and you can actually relate somehow to it, the songs they played, all the Christmas spirit, etc.
I believe that’s pretty much about it.
Welcome, 2012!

PS. Amanda looks like Christina Aguilera on that poster.
